October 21st, 2019

See below for announcements

7th grade Thursday Help Hall: We are starting to ramp up Thursday Help Hall! This is a time for small group tutoring for students who are behind in classes or need extra help on assignments. Students can choose to come OR they may be required to come. We will let them know the week of, when they are required to come based off of missing work or behavior.

Saturday School: We be requiring some students to attend Saturday school to further make up outstanding work or get extra help from teachers. You will be notified in advance if your child is required to attend. The first Saturday school will be November 9th from 8 am – 10 am.

Math Test for CC7 Math is going home today.  Please make sure your child has completed his/her corrections and please sign the slip attached to it, acknowledging that you have seen the test and corrections.  The students have the option to retake the parts they failed to show mastery of on Thursday afternoon or Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 7:15-7:55.

As of October 14th, students who have not met their Khan deadline will be asked to come in for help hall on Tuesday at 7-7:45 am and Thursday afternoons from 3:15 – 4:15pm, until they are caught up.

Reminder! Attendance & Tardy– Please review the Exploris Attendance Policy. Middle school teachers submit attendance based on who is in their seat at 8:15. If students are not in class by 8:15, they must sign-in on the computer by the main office. Failure to sign in could result in inadvertently being marked absent for the entire day. If your student will be absent for the day please send an email to their crew teacher and attendance@exploris.org.

HELP – for 8th Grade Graduation

We need your help! Do you attend Christ Church on Edenton St or have a friend who is a parishioner? We are looking for a sponsor for the 8th-grade graduation. Christ Church has hosted Exploris graduation for the past 2 years, with a parishioner as a sponsor.  It is church policy for all non-parish related events that the primary contact must be a member of their parish and onsite for the event.  At this time, we do not have a Christ Church sponsor for our 2020 graduation.  Graduation is scheduled for the morning of Friday, June 12, 2020. We would sincerely appreciate your help and sponsorship in this matter. Please contact 8th-grade teachers at  teachers-8@exploris.org and Arika Dloughy anriffel@gmail.com , if you can help.

To kick off the Annual Fund, we will be hosting an annual Day of Giving on Tuesday, November 5. We hope everyone in the Exploris community will donate on this day…our goal is to raise $100,000 in 24 hours! You can send in a check to The Exploris School (memo: Annual Fund). We will also provide an easy link for online donations or to set up recurring monthly payments.

Join us this Thursday, October 24, at 6:30 pm at the elementary campus for a Parent University. We will discuss The Exploris School budget, charter school financing, and the status of our new building project.
